Sequim Arts has become Olympic Peninsula Art Association as of January 1st.
We have changed the name of Sequim Arts in order to make all artists or inspiring artists on the Olympic Peninsula feel welcome. We want them to know that they can become O.P.A.A. Members and not feel that we are restricting the membership to just Sequim. With our name change we desire to be more inclusive and open to all who wish to become a part of Olympic Peninsula Art Association no matter where they live on the Peninsula. We need new members for our group to expand and grow in the future. Join us to meet new artists with like interests, enjoy monthly presenters to learn something new, and just have more fun.
Sequim Arts is a non-profit arts organization located on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state, with Mount Olympus to the south and Victoria, British Columbia across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north. Sequim Arts was established in 1969. Many of our artists are nationally recognized and all members benefit from our local community’s appreciation and support. We hope you enjoy your visit to our web site and we invite you to become a member or attend our next meeting, show or workshop.
Sequim Arts was organized in 1969 by Mary Bartlett, Aina Hubbard, Joy McCarter, Ardean Robinson and Leah Wright. Their aim was to provide a forum where artists could encourage each other and act cooperatively to further their artistic goals. Through the years this spirit has continued and grows ever stronger.
Over the years Sequim Arts has taken on various new projects: a Student’s Art Exhibit in March, a Juried Art Show & Sale during the Irrigation Festival each May, the art exhibit at the Clallam County Fair in August, and an annual Member’s Art Exhibit in October.
Sequim Arts offers informative programs, demonstrations and workshops that are open to both members and non-members. A monthly newsletter is published online.
Sequim Arts meets at St Luke’s Episcopal Hall, 525 N 5th Av. in Sequim.
