 Faux Acrylic Encaustic
A Non-Toxic Approach

May 7 and 8

Istanbul.jpg3rd Angle.jpgLetters #2-1.jpg

Sequim Arts is sponsoring a workshop by our 2014 Juror for the Sequim Arts 38th Annual Juried show Suzy Kueckelhan.  The two day class may be taken as one day or both. The cost for one day is $80 and the two day class is $160. The class will be held at the juried show location 7th and 8th , Bell Creek Plaza, 990 W. Washington St. Suite #E 104
Have fun with Suzy’s demonstrations and guidance. During this 2 day class you will explore and create Faux Encaustics, by using creative techniques with acrylic products.   Your results will rival wax encaustic finishes without the downside of using toxic hot wax.
In class, you will create mat board samples (4”x6”).  They will be small images of how to produce the subtle look of wax.  You will actively build a spatial vocabulary consisting of unique surfaces, textures and mysterious qualities of pictorial depth.
To sign up for the class or for further information please call 360-681-4884 or email  All artistic levels welcome.

I provide a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere where students can relax and paint. For most of my classes, I offer students the option of “painting with MY supplies” before buying your own. That way, you can decide if you like watercolor BEFORE you buy your own brushes, paints, etc. Or if you’re visiting and left your supplies at home, for a small fee you can use mine.

For a small fee per class ($2) you may use my supplies (paper, paint, brushes, tape, etc)

Art Retreat in Port Townsend

My name is Anna Nasset and I am the owner of Artisans on Taylor Gallery in Port Townsend. I was just chatting with a few lovely Sequim artists who suggested I contact you about my next adventure. I am taking over what was Artfest which was an art retreat at Fort Worden. This year I am hosting smaller retreats in downtown Port Townsend. My goal is to truly connect our community with this retreat as before it was mostly people travelling from around the country.
Here is the link for the information.

Salt Chuck Carol Janda will be teaching at the Sequim Senior Center on the first Wed of each month, 9am-12. The class is a demo for a special aspect requested by the class, for instance, treatment of snow, water, use of color, texture etc.
