Demonstration:  

Iris will demonstrate the process of creating botanical watercolors from sketch to finish.

Artist Statement:  

Iris Edey is a British-born artist who came to the US in 1974, and has, since 1980, trained herself in the demanding disciplines of transparent watercolor painting and botanical illustration.  When combined with her talent for and love of pen-and-ink drawing, these have resulted in sketchbooks filled with drawings from life.  These in turn form the basis for her many paintings and have gained her an international reputation as a book illustrator.
