Artist Statement
Kim McBride has dabbled in art her entire life, although almost all of her early artwork consisted only of drawings of horses. When she won first prize in an art competition in third grade her parents started her in art lessons and she was hooked.
She’s taken art classes in every shape and form ever since. She has worked in ink, watercolor, pastels, oil and acrylics. She has also studied photography, jewelry making, mosaics, ceramics, collage, basket making, stained glass and metalwork. She has had some of her artwork published in calendars and one of her photographs was featured in the Los Angeles Times. She currently is working mostly in acrylics.
Kim is retired after working as a courtroom clerk for Los Angeles County Superior Court. She lives with her husband John, and their two dogs in Sequim.
