One could say that Elsbeth’s training in portraiture began at the age of seven, when she would borrow the 150-year-old skull her artistic mother owned, and sketch it on her Big Chief tablet at the kitchen table. Years spent portrait painting on the East Coast, then working as an illustrator for a physical therapy/patient information company in Washington brought her to a successful career in the mid-nineties as a sculptor.
Often casting bronzes of her figurative ceramic sculptures, she quickly earned herself a body of enthusiastic national and international collectors. In 2009, Elsbeth added a line of jewelry-sized sculptures to her inventory, creating works in fine silver, bronze and copper.
