Sally Cays watercolor paintings reflect her love of intense color and strong contrasts, and express the beauty she sees in the world around her with what she calls “the luminous quality of watercolor.”
Ms. Cays is a primarily self-taught artist whose works are in American and international collections. She has been represented by galleries in Washington, Oregon, and California. Her original paintings are currently featured in her own gallery, “Gallery on the Walls of Sequim Vision Clinic” 126 E. Washington St., Sequim, Washington. They also may be seen during the summer months at the Sequim Open Aire Market. A popular workshop instructor, she is now teaching the watercolor workshops in a semi-private form in her own studio. Anyone interested can visit her website, www.caysart.com and click on the “Newsletter” link for more information, email her at sally@caysart.com, or give her a call at 360-683-5387. Sally currently has one online course, “Portraits of Children”, available for enrollment. Sally’s work has been featured and has won awards in regional, national, and international exhibitions. She is a signature member of The Northwest Watercolor Society, a member of the National Watercolor Society and of the American Watercolor Society, and a juried member of Women Painters of Washington. An original watercolor “From Our Garden” is featured in the book “Splash 5 Best of Watercolor; The Glory of Color”. Three of her paintings, “Trilogy”, “Tribute”, and “Saturday Market” are included in the book “The Best of Watercolor, Splash 6; The Magic of Texture”, both books published by North Light Books.

Sally’s painting “Market Basket” was used as the 10th anniversary poster for the Sequim Open Aire Market; and her painting, “Lavender Bliss”, was commissioned by the Sequim Lavender Growers Association and used as the Lavender Festival posters and memorabilia for the 2008 Sequim Lavender Festival.
