Mary is a mixed media artist living, working and teaching in Sequim. She has a great fascination with experimental work using not only water based paints but papers, fabric and found objects. Works may be somewhat realistic, impressionistic, abstracted, non-representation or “tempering chaos”.
For some reason she has a fascination for using simple objects as a starting point for paintings. Then, she pushes the envelope of what she already knows to learn more as the painting unfolds. The much-used statement “go with the flow” is about right for her process. She also likes to build new paintings on old, sometimes regretting saying good-by, but trying to leave some hint of the old. This year for the Tour, she will be in a wonderful barn with 2 other painters. Come see us —there will be great energy and fun and surprise things going on in the barn.
