Coffee Miklos has been designing and selling jewelry for the last thirty-five years in upper end retail venues on the East Coast. But that is all behind him now. He moved to Dungeness four years ago and developed Dungeness Studios, a facility dedicated to the metal arts. |
His current body of work is heavily influenced by where he lives. These pieces focus on using images and themes from the Great Northwest. These current themes explore the coursing of waters through the Olympic Peninsula. His inspirations are found in the water vapor that forms dew drops in the trees, the intricate labors of a beaver building a dam, the downpours of rain in the mountains, the action of water cutting through rock to find the ocean again, the inevitability of an ice sheet that floats and cling tenuously to the pond’s shore and swaying of eel grass in a saltwater bay. Coffee’s pieces are all hand constructed using argentium sterling silver, classic sterling silver, 18kt and 14kt colored golds, beach rocks, colored gemstones and diamonds. |
