The Gallery District
Downtown Sequim's gallery district runs primarily along Washington Street and Sequim Avenue, with most spaces concentrated within a three-block radius of the intersection. Walking the entire circuit takes about 45 minutes at a leisurely pace, longer if you stop to look carefully and talk to the artists (which is the point).
The district feels different from arts neighborhoods in larger cities. There's no velvet-rope pretension. Gallery doors are propped open in good weather. Artists working in back studios will come out to say hello if they hear someone admiring a painting. The scale is intimate and the atmosphere is genuine.

Visiting Tips
The galleries are all within walking distance of each other. Start wherever you like and wander. Free parking is available along Washington Street and in the lot behind the Sequim Civic Center. If you're visiting specifically for the First Friday Art Walk, arrive around 5:00 PM when galleries begin their evening openings.
Most galleries are happy to ship purchased artwork. If you're traveling and can't carry a painting home, ask about shipping options at the time of purchase.
Beyond Downtown
Downtown isn't the only place to find art in Sequim. Many artists maintain private studios that open to visitors by appointment or during organized studio tour events. The broader Olympic Peninsula art scene extends to Port Townsend, Port Angeles, and the San Juan Islands, all accessible from Sequim for day trips.
